Property Insurance

Property insurance is provided through the State Property Fire Insurance Fund, which is managed by the NC Department of Insurance and provides coverage for Appalachian State University’s state-owned buildings and contents on a replacement cost basis. App State has All Risk coverage on most buildings and contents.

Coverage is provided on a continuous basis. Premium is allocated based on the departments’ occupied square footage.

All University buildings and contents are covered for these perils, subject to a $100,000 per occurrence deductible.

When to contact our office:

• You have new assets
• You are moving insured assets from one location to another
• An insured building or asset is destroyed (see Claims)
